Window on future of manufacturing attracts worldwide audience
The world is watching – that's the message for the UK's only Advanced Manufacturing Park, as growing numbers of people worldwide click on its www.ampuk.com website.
From Australia to Alaska, Chile to China, Ireland to India, more and more people, potentially including investors, have been checking out what is happening at the AMP, and how its resident companies are pushing back the frontiers of research, development and manufacturing.
Over 15 weeks, since the site began to fill out, it had 4,343 visits – just under 300 a week. Those visits have resulted in almost 19,000 page visits.
Of the total from 69 countries, almost 3,700 are from the UK. The next highest total is from the USA (143).
After those, the top ten is filled by Germany and India (41 each), Japan (31), Netherlands (29), China (26), Sweden and Australia (25) and France (22).
Australian visitors spend longest on the site – averaging almost six minutes per visit, followed by the Netherlands with nearly five minutes.
Other visitors viewed the site from Brazil and Argentina, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Russia, almost every European country… and from the Arctic Svalbard archipelago and Indonesia.
So perhaps George Orwell's “Big Brother is Watching You” should now read “Everybody and their Brother is Watching You”.
