Fripp Design team creating designs for life

The work of AMP Technology Centre's Fripp Design in developing custom prosthetic body parts is the subject of a recent news story in the Sheffield Star.

Fripp are using an established industrial process - three-dimensional printing - and applying it to the medical world, using bio-compatible medical materials already used in health care to create custom prosthetics for people who have suffered facial deformities through trauma or cancer.

The article explains the technology behind the process and the benefits to both the patient and healthcare professionals, and highlights the collaborative research project Fripp are undertaking with the University of Sheffield.
